Ricky from RE Performance (Audi R8 specialists, plus much else requiring skilled spannering and modification) has been noodling the numbers relating to changing the “U.K. vehicle fleet of cars to EVs”. He’s realised that it cannot be done. Congratulations!
Next step is to understand how the dickens we got here. The car manufacturers are not stupid. They know this, too.
Of course, it’s our now-familiar old pal, the luxuriously-funded lie.

Please tell others the unbelievable truth. That we’ve been lied to for decades. This has happened essentially because there’s been a tsunami of funding but only for the right kind of publications. The same people funding the “research” also own the publishers of almost all the relevant scientific journals.
Punishment for deviating is swift and severe.
Rewards, over and above grants and publications are awesome.

Another encouraging story, a factually correct criticism of the Mayor of London ‘s “pollution tax” based “ultra low emissions zone” (ULEZ) expansion plan, imminently to come into force.
I believe it’s ultimatel objective is to price ordinary people out of their privately owned vehicles. There’s no health benefit. Once catalytic converters were mandated to be fitted to all new vehicles many years ago, and diesel exhaust particulate filters, too, the air can’t get any cleaner and is in any case no longer injurious.
I worked on ozone and respiratory system injury in the late 1980s. We found that levels of ozone capable of producing damage was very much higher than the then prevailing levels.
Also, there isn’t one simple threshold because there’s a dynamic equilibrium between oxidant stressors in inhaled air and the availability of free radical quenching antioxidants in airway surface liquid. It’s smother case of fake science or scientism, being used to assault people’s liberty for no good reason and plenty of nefarious motives.
By the way, I slightly know Professor Frank Kelly. He was doing related work back then and it looks like he still is, despite the tide having gone out entirely on his niche field a very long time ago.
Why would he say the things he’s said about air pollution? Other colleagues at Imperial are to issue some kind of statement of disagreement with Kelly. Good on them.

Ps : I have actual published research credentials in this field, adjacent issues like ozone and impact on respiratory function, so I became familiar with NOx and particulates in the late 1980s/early 1990s.
There really was arguably a problem but only up to the mandated fitting of catalytic converters. Ever since that event, air quality in London has been excellent, with few exceptions.
One is the London Underground!
There’s so much metallic dust from wheels and tracks wearing each other away.
Also, brake lining derived particulates, nasty stuff.
Organic vapours from oils, lubricants and hydraulic fluids etc.
I recommend you minimise your time there. Masks don’t work because the particles in question are smaller than the pore size even in a well fitting mask. Paper “masks” are a psychological crutch.
If we say nothing about ULEZ, they will remove all powered personal transport. If we allow that, it’ll be a permanent end to personal transport beyond your legs and a bicycle.
If you think I’m exaggerating, this is explicitly among the UN2030 so-called sustainable development goals.

An important short video showing that atmospheric CO2 doesn’t drive temperature.
We’ve known for decades that ice core data shows that temperatures change & after a protracted delay, CO2 changes.
CO2 cannot possibly drive temperature. The earth is currently cool v geological history and all human existence. Water Vapor overwhelming dominates other green house gases. It’s all a lie.
Oh, and question the descriptor “fossil fuels” because that’s a lie also (other than brown coal (lignite).
Viral pandemics are a lie.
Human made CO2 drives global warming is a lie.
We’re in a time of plenty and we’re absolutely not over populated.
Diabolical forces intend to lock almost everybody down and worse.
