Julian Assange is free! Finally! A really good day, after all these years!
Assange pleaded guilty to the US in order to be released. The expected sentence is less than the time he has already spent in prison. This ends the long-standing legal dispute over the publication of a series of secret documents. He is still innocent and only wanted to expose the crimes. This is how you deal with those who tell the truth and even prove it and stand up for others!
All the best to Julian and his family!
Stella Assange writes on Twitter (X) :
Julian is free!!!!
Words cannot express our immense gratitude to YOU - yes YOU - who have all mobilized for years to make this happen. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

JULIAN ASSANGE IS FREE Julian Assange is free. He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of 24 June, after having spent 1901 days there. He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stansted airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and departed the UK. This is the result of a global campaign that spanned grass-roots organisers, press freedom campaigners, legislators and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations. This created the space for a long period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, leading to a deal that has not yet been formally finalised. We will provide more information as soon as possible. After more than five years in a 2x3 metre cell, isolated 23 hours a day, he will soon reunite with his wife Stella Assange, and their children, who have only known their father from behind bars. WikiLeaks published groundbreaking stories of government corruption and human rights abuses, holding the powerful accountable for their actions. As editor-in-chief, Julian paid severely for these principles, and for the people's right to know. As he returns to Australia, we thank all who stood by us, fought for us, and remained utterly committed in the fight for his freedom. Julian's freedom is our freedom. [More details to follow]

Germany celebrates Assange’s release
A day of joy
The fight for freedom continues !
Journalist Assange's years of life-threatening imprisonment have come to an end. A worldwide movement fought for his freedom. Assange is a symbol of the fight against US war crimes. He was and is always in danger of being murdered. The price for this freedom: an admission of guilt forced through torture is the formal reason for Julian's release. The main reason is the global movement that has denounced the USA in solidarity with Assange.
US crimes don't stop
The crimes of the USA do not stop: the civil rights activist and journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal is still in life imprisonment, the Lakota Sioux and civil rights activist Leonard Peltier is still imprisoned in the USA. The USA likes to get rid of its internal enemies through murderous prison conditions. With its extended NATO arm, it wants to get rid of its external enemies: From Afghanistan to Yugoslavia to Libya - the US murder machine knows no pause.
Responsibility for a world without war
It is courageous activists like Julian Assange who fall into the hands of the machine when they inform the public about the crimes of the USA. And it is the solidarity movements that put obstacles in the way of the machine. Your chances of winning the battle with the USA are rarely great. But they don't give up, they know their responsibility for a world without war.
Julian Assange's birthday
Sometimes there are breathing spaces in this fight. The solidarity movement for Assange will celebrate such a breathing space on July 3rd in Berlin, from 5 p.m., at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. It is Julian Assange's birthday and at the same time the celebration of his liberation. You can sing and dance. It will be a celebration of freedom. A celebration of solidarity and joy: Julian's freedom is a beginning. He still needs our help. His wife Stella is asking for donations to cover the costs of his care.
