"They are not fundamentally different from normal people, and yet they are missing something."

It would seem that people willing to just do what they're told regardless of whether or not they believe it's the right thing ARE the norm in our current society. IE, they are "normal." They seem to believe holding onto their job is the highest moral imperative. And that, in a nutshell, is how TPTB are able to do what they do.

Is it possible to do evil without being evil? Yes. But we become evil one amoral decision at a time. And doing it so you can feed your family doesn't change the amorality. What they are missing is courage and the societal support that would encourage them.

Can one do evil without being evil ?

Interesting question. Binary Yes No questions are the worst. What if the coin flips wrong?

I believe the great sage Forrest Gump opined about such profundities with something like

Stupid is as stupid does.

So I'm thinking the answer must be

Evil is as evil does

Because Forest Gump is always right😊

Or Perhaps this is an original sin question

You know, we are born in sin (evil) and only by grace are we saved.

In which case you can't do ANYTHING without being evil. Because we're all born evil

So the answer is NO.

Forest Gump may seem simple but he's actually a very complicated guy
